I was visiting my aunt, Lucile (BRYAN) Stevens, during Christmas in 1995 and asked her a question about my grandfather who had died when I was a child. The next thing I knew she had pulled out a couple of cardboard boxes from under her bed that were full of family information including Bibles, and a lot of miscellaneous notes and pictures. She had already done a significant amount of research on her BRYAN and BROUGHTON lineage and had proven her link to a Revolutionary War patriot in order to gain admission into the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). I set up a card table in a bedroom upstairs and began writing down detailed notes about the family. I didn't realize it at the time but I had been severely bitten by the 'Genealogy Bug'. The following January my wife and I attended GENTECH96 which was a conference on Genealogy technology being held in nearby Plano, Texas. It was there that I purchased The Master GenealogistTM software product that I have used ever since to document my genealogy research.
The pages that follow are a work in progress. I have tried to be as accurate as possible in documenting my research. I prefer not to publish information on the internet unless I have good sources for the information. If anyone viewing these pages sees an error, I would appreciate an e-mail. I attempt to update the information as often as I can and will indicate the date at the bottom of the page for each family tree. If you do not find information on a particular person, please e-mail me and I will send you what I have.
A note on privacy: I will not publish details on living individuals. I will indicate their names, however. If someone objects to having their name listed, I will be happy to remove it. Please e-mail me if that is your desire.
